Bernard 'Dick' Knabe

BUTTE — Bernard "Dick" Knabe, 62, died on Tuesday, March 29, at his home in Butte.

A member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes, he was born to Richard Knabe and Lurena Liberty Keski on Jan. 10, 1943, in St. Ignatius.

Dick was known to have a likeable and giving personality who would always help out a friend in need.

Love was often shown by playfully teasing loved ones.

He enjoyed entertaining by cooking flavorful dishes, singing karaoke and dancing.

He also enjoyed playing cards and board games.

Dick lived in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

He had worked as a miner and retired as a lumber grader in Frenchtown. His goofy and loving character will be immensely missed by many.

Dick will be at peace with his parents and brother.

His positive outlook on life and loving spirit will be missed by his loved ones Rose; his sister Gloria; children Jolyn, Jason, Becky, DonD, Shonna, Brad and Todd; stepchildren Lisa and Scot and spouses; 15 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, as well many extended family members.

Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated April 6 at 1 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission. Interment was in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
