Community cleanup was great
Editor,
It is so cool to see how communication helps support and collaboration to spread throughout. Timing a community wide clean-up with the downtown Polson effort proved to be a tremendous show of support on Sunday afternoon, April 3.
A special thanks to Douglas Stam, Mission Valley Lodge #78, for bringing several Masons to walk along Highway 93 between the Flathead River bridge and reconstruction on the other side of town. Jeff Young, a Mason as well as with Polson Outdoor, took a crew out by McDonald's and worked their way back.
Polson Kiwanians made an appearance, filling in where necessary. And Polson Rotarians, John Glueckert and Dan Barz organized a larger contingency to clean up mile markers # 2 to 4.7.
The brightest news was that this special effort resulted in a new group's commitment to the first two miles of Rocky Point Road from the highway. Children of Rocky Point Road is now sponsoring this section through Montana Department of Highway's "Adopt a Highway" program.
And that is what makes community projects work. A little communication and agreement as to what helps us all be proud of where we live appears to be the right way to go.
Finally, Bill Schultz of MDOT is now a prime candidate to be a guest speaker at the Ronan Chamber general meeting. So as you can see, the good spirit just flows. Thank you to all those that I haven't named. Your generosity is rock solid. And the approach from north and south into Polson is better for it.
