Sister St. George (Mary Elizabeth Richmond) RHSJ

AMHERSTVIEW, Ont. — Sister St. George, as she was known in her religious life, died peacefully at St. Joseph's Regional House in Amherstview, Ontario, on April 18, 2005, at 97 years of age of which 75 years were spent in religious life.

Sister St. George was born in Middleton, N.Y., the daughter of William Richmond and Jane Cummings. At age five, Sister went to live in Butte with her loving grandmother, Johana (Yungs) Cummings.

Sister spent 61 years in Montana and never forgot what she referred to as "The Big Sky State of Montana." She served several years at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, half-brothers William and Arthur and half-sister Ruth Primka.

She is survived by step-brothers Donald, Chester and Bruce Richmond and her step-sister June Robbins as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held in Holy Family Chapel, St. Joseph's Regional House, on April 20, followed by Rite of Committal with prayers in St. Mary's Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
