Animal Rescue does outstanding job
Editor,
Life Savers Animal Rescue has had an outstanding first 18 months. In 2004 we rescued and placed 100 animals in responsible homes, and so far in 2005 we've placed 61 dogs, 67 puppies, 28 cats and 113 kittens for a total of 269 animals. This was due entirely to our passionate efforts to save the lives of animals that would otherwise have been euthanized.
So far we've placed animals across Montana, in Colorado, Washington, Calgary, Alberta, Nebraska and California. We're so proud of our work that we display it for everyone to see on the Smiles Found Here page of our website:
www.lsar.org
We've educated our community on the merits of Trap/Neuter/Return of feral cats by providing information packets, teaching people to be caretakers of feral cat colonies, loaning traps and crates, and providing spay/neuter assistance for over 47 feral cats.
Our small core group includes Brian Anderson, Linda Crawford, Karen Duty, Diane Parker, Uli Rodriques, Vicki Scheidecker, Sheila Wages, Elaine Williamson and our invaluable foster families.
We want to take this opportunity to thank not only those of you who have adopted an animal from LSAR, but the many organizations that have helped us along the way:
Flathead Spay/Neuter Clinic, PetsMart, Polson Animal Clinic, Polson Pet and Seed, Southshore Veterinary Service, Super 1 Foods, Wal-Mart, Dianne and Ron Armstrong/Montana Pets on the Net.
We also thank the many, many people who have made donations enabling us to continue our mission.
2006 will bring new challenges for our group: The ongoing need to save more animals, the need for more adopters and foster homes, and of course more financial support. If you would like to join us by sponsoring a pet (spay/neuter or adoption fee), fostering or adopting, let us know at P.O. Box 643, Polson, MT 59860, or call Linda at (406) 883-5978.
From all of us at LSAR to you and yours, good health and good wishes for a happy holiday season and new year.
