Julie Irene Johnson
MISSOULA — Julie was welcomed into eternity on Dec. 11, 2005, 4:30 a.m. at Community Medical Center, Missoula, surrounded by her family. Because of her faith in Jesus, her struggle with pancreatic cancer was an inspiration to all she came into contact with.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1959, in Ronan, and after graduating high school went on to receive her BS in Dietetics from Loma Linda University in California. She was employed by St. Luke Hospital in Ronan as a dietitian for their extended care facility as well as a dietitian at Community Medical Center.
On Sept. 16, 1979, she married the love of her life, her "sooheart," Randy Johnson. They shared a life together that was upheld by trust in God, love for each other and the idea that you always had the other person's best interests in mind. That sweet relationship is fondly remembered by all who had the honor to be a part of their lives.
Her family was her favorite hobby. She made up a newsletter for all her nieces and nephews to contribute drawings and stories to. These acts of thoughtfulness are now family heirlooms for these children to cherish and pass on to the next generation as an example of how a family needs to stick together.
Julie's generous spirit will be carried on in the lives of all she touched. It was never about the having of material things but in giving the most costly gifts of all, herself, her time and her belief in the other person's ability to be everything they could be, that was Julie's best relational trademark.
She is survived by her husband Randy Johnson of Victor; her sisters, Patsy Belz (Oregon), Deb Corrigan (Montana), Barb Stromme (Oregon), Garnet Pirre (Montana); her brother, Mike Phillips (Oregon); her parents, Jim and Nona Fuhrmann (Montana) and Gladys and Melvin Johnson (Montana) as well as a cast of thousands of very extended nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who loved her and will greatly miss her.
A celebration of Julie's life memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, at the New Life Christian Center in Missoula with Pastor Barry Curtis officiating. Private family urn placement will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
The family suggests memorial donations to any of the following places: The American Cancer Society, Community Medical Center or Blodgett View Christian School.
