Charlo girl needs blood donations
Editor,
I am asking for any help you can offer at this time. I am involved in a benefit blood drive through the Red Cross for a Charlo resident and family friend who has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time. She will require a bone marrow transplant in the near future and will need over 100 units of blood throughout the treatment.
Even if the blood donated does not match hers, she will receive credit toward the units she will need.
Her name is Kelsey Rollins-Hanson, a 2004 graduate of Charlo High School. She was first diagnosed during the spring of her junior year and received treatment for the next 12 months. She completed her senior year in high school from a hospital bed in Spokane. She was attending the U of M at the time of the second diagnosis and had to file a medical withdrawal.
The blood drive will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, at the small gym in Charlo from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Appointments are appreciated but walk-ins are welcome, too.
For an appointment, call me at 883-3600 during the day, 644-3338 evenings and weekends; or call Sheila Young, 528-4358 days or 644-0031 evenings.
