Lady Pirates cruise their way to a 6-0 mark

POLSON — With 12 Lady Pirates draining shots, the team cruised its way through a 61-28 victory over the Maidens last Thursday in front of a hometown crowd.

Kara Huyser picked up 14 points to lead her team. She was followed by Jen Orchard who put up 10. The rest of the points were divvied up between Brittany Gardner (8), Emily Fors (8), Gracie Satori (6), Jessica Buckless (5), and Merilee Mowbray, Jaelin Vandeberg and Tatianna Kimler all of whom scored four. Kendra Woldstad tacked on three and Lindsey Rafter had one to help the team.

The ladies earned 16 points to the Maidens' 11 and racked up 36 points by half-time. Third quarter saw Polson outshoot the Maidens 11-7. Polson capped off the game 18-4 in the fourth.

The Lady Pirates also claimed 45 rebounds to Ronan's 21.

Polson vs. Hellgate

Fresh off a victory, the Lady Pirates traveled to Missoula where they worked for their 35-24 win against the Hellgate Knights, putting them at a perfect 6-0 mark.

Polson earned an eight point cushion in the first and held off Hellgate 15-8 going into half-time.

The Lady Pirates had one point over the Knights in the third (8-7) and claimed the game after putting up 12 points to Hellgate's seven in the fourth.

Buckless led with nine points while Huyser contributed eight. Fors drained six, while Vandeberg and Kimler each had three. Satori put up two.

Polson will travel to Bigfork next Tuesday before hosting Frenchtown on Thursday.
