Maidens win over top-ranked Columbia Falls
The Maidens had a successful outing at Columbia Falls as they prepare for the stretch run of their schedule. They had balanced scoring as they downed the Wildkats 60-48 on Friday.
"We used more of a trapping defense against them, and that seemed to bother Columbia Falls," said coach Dave Paisley. "It created some easier shots for us."
Jamie Lake scored 19 for the Maidens and Cambrie Starkel added 13 points.
"We've had a different leading scorer for each of out past few games," said Paisley. "It shows we're playing as a team."
The coach remained focused on the future as he looked at next week's schedule.
"Against Hamilton, we'd like to fine-tune the press and our transition game," said Paisley. "And Libby is a big league game. We're two games up in our league right now and we'd like to extend that lead or at least keep it the same."
Ronan has home games against Hamilton on Thursday (today) and Libby on Saturday.
