Margaret Barnaby Matt Finley

ST. IGNATIUS — Margaret Barnaby Matt Finley, 78, of St. Ignatius died Saturday, Jan. 29, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

Margaret Barnaby Matt Finley, born Oct. 5, 1926, in St. Ignatius to Andrew and Annie Barnaby, married George Matt, who died in1942. They had 14 children.

Preceding her in death were children Carol Ann Matt, Donald Matt, Gordon Lewis Matt, George Matt, Jr. and Daniel Matt.

She is survived by Victor and Judy Matt of Dixon; Clarice and Frank Zepeda, Georgeanne Matt and Henry Owens, and Eugene and Judy Matt, all of St. Ignatius; Larry Lee Matt and Verna West of Moiese, Duane Dennis Matt of St. Ignatius, James Richard Matt of Wellpinit, Wash., Judy Matt and Paul Corral of Wellpinit, Douglas Matt of Dixon, Rose Howlett of Ronan, and Rita Adams of St. Ignatius.

In 1970, she married Martin Finley from Arlee. She was preceded in death by Jody Finley. She is survived by Danny Andrews, Martina Andrews and Carol Finley, all of Ronan; a sister, Madeline Barnaby of Ronan; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 2 in the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission. Interment was in the Snyelmn Cemetery in St. Ignatius.

Foster and Durgeloh Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
