Mission, Arlee wrestle well at Superior
SUPERIOR — This past weekend the Mission Bulldogs and Arlee Warriors made the trip to Superior for the Western B-C Duals.
Mission traveled with eight wrestlers and had a good showing. Mission's Bryce Picard and Jake Bosley both won four matches. Bosley picked up his 33rd win on the season and Picard got his 29th.
Mission standout Bosley should reach his 100th career win this year during his junior year. Bosley has recorded 96 wins so far in his high school career and still has one more season to add to his scroll.
The Bulldogs' Ray Matt managed to score a point against one of the top-ranked heavyweight wrestlers from Thompson Falls.
Mission coach Colby Cline is pushing his team with morning and afternoon practices. With the extra prep the Bulldogs should be in top-notch shape.
The Bulldogs have been hampered this season with some injuries but coach Cline said the team should be healthy for divisionals this weekend in Plains. If everything goes as planned and the team is healthy, Mission plans to take 15 wrestlers with a few open spots.
"We could put eight wrestlers in the finals, if we wrestle well," said Cline.
The Arlee Warriors have almost rebounded from injuries that left some open slots. The Warriors are gearing up for this weekend's action in Plains. Head coach Ken Hill has been reviewing takedowns and setups.
"We had more control (in Superior) on our setups and openings," said Hill.
If things work out for the Warriors, they should have five wrestlers seeded in the top three spots at divisionals in Plains this weekend.
