Donald William Stephen

POLSON — Donald William Stephen 68, of Polson died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, after a sudden illness.

Don was born Oct. 17, 1936, in Missoula to Walter William Stephen and Marie Charlotte Koch. He grew up in Missoula. Don joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after four years.

On Oct. 25, 1958, he married Judy Gavin in Missoula. Together they had one daughter, Janine Marie. In 1960, they moved to California where Don worked as a press operator for several years for the Fiberboard Paper Co.

In 1972, they moved back to Missoula. He then went to work for Kiewit Company as an oiler and was later promoted to plant foreman. In 1994, they retired and moved to Polson.

Don is survived by his wife Judy of Polson; brother Ken and his wife Vera Stephen of Polson; stepdaughter Kelley and her husband Terry Ivorson of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
