Kwitchyerbellyaching about court costs
Editor,
I would like to answer Mr. James Pettit's letter of July 7. Mr. Pettit, if you would read the Constitution, or better yet, the instructions on the ballot, it tells you how to vote. It plainly said Vote for One, not two as they tried to do.
If you need another ballot, then go get one.
I am so tired of hearing our poor Mr. Rick Jore is so blameless. Bull corn! Duncan Scott knew on the day of the hearing (Dec. 17, 2004) that the Republican Party was paying for his (Jore's) lawyer.
Before the hearing on Dec. 17, Jeanne Windham asked her attorney Mike Meloy to ask Mr. Jore's attorney to agree that no one request their legal fees. Mr. Meloy attempted to do just that. But Mr. Jore's attorney of record, acting on Mr. Jore's behalf, refused and stated that he wanted legal fees. So, Jeanne Windham was required to post a $1,500 bond.
I don't know if Mr. Jore understood the ramifications of Mr. Scott's refusal and Judge Christopher's discretionary award (she didn't have to do it). Mr. Scott did know, and as Mr. Jore's attorney, made a calculated decision in hope of getting a judgment against Anita Big Spring — the same that Mr. Jore and Mr. Scott now claim is unfair.
The courts have the right to decide what way they feel is the law. If you don't like what they decide you have to God-given right to vote them out.
If anyone voting cannot read, there is someone at the polls who would be more than glad to read the ballot for them.
Quit blaming others for things you have no idea of what is going on. Tell Mr. Rick Jore to stand up to the plate and be a man and take the blame for his actions. Quit being a cry baby.
I think he can't stand the idea he lost to a very neat, compassionate woman.
One who stands for the people, not the party. One you can talk to and not have her look in another direction, or over your head, or not pay attention to what you are saying.
She listens on comments on what you say. She is a God-fearing woman and loves this country and our state.
