Herbert 'Rick' Lozeau

RONAN — Herbert "Rick: Lozeau, 51, went to join those who have gone before on April 26, 2005, in Polson.

Born on Jan. 26, 1954, in St. Ignatius, he was adopted and raised in Arlee, Blue Bay, Dixon and Dog Lake on the Reservation as well as in Texas by his parents, John Chris & Leoma (Marengo) Lozeau. They were kind and loving parents who provided him with many other children who were raised as brothers and sisters.

He was a natural athlete in at Ronan High school and excelled at football, boxing, basketball, track and wrestling.

Well known and loved, Rick worked for the CSKT Tribes in Forestry until epilepsy forced him to slow down and focus on his pool game and family.

He always had time for his family and loved to be involved in their pursuits.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Chris and Leoma Lozeau; brother Marvin Weaselhead Lozeau; sister Wanda Lozeau; grandmother, Suzie Antoine; his biological father, Sam Coleman, and a grandson Arlyn Lumpry.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Durgeloh Lozeau; stepsons, Jerome and Billy Lumpry; an adopted daughter, Rachel Nelson; his biological mother, Alice Antoine Goodman; a very special friend and mother of his children, Donna "Chicken" Houle of Great Falls; children, Lonnie Romsa of Ronan (Lawrence) and Jesse Houle of Great Falls (Starla), daughter Buffy Haines (Jeremy) of Texas, son Charles "Casper" Tenas of Dayton; his biological mother, Alice Antoine Goodman; grandchildren Kristina and Lawrence Mays, Jr., Deja and Khaila Houle; sisters Judy Lozeau of Ronan, Karen Fisher (Vern) of Ronan, Peggy Antoine, Janita Von Heeder, Jobie Ash, Erma McNulty, Glenda Whitworth and Linda Coleman; brothers Owen Deardorf, Larry Keele, Dave and Jay Goodman, Amos, Lester, Wayne and Arnie Coleman; nieces Angela Hawkins, Jasmine Hendrickx and numerous other nieces; nephews Jordan Lozeau, Josh, David, Michael and Tao Fisher, and numerous nephews as well many cousins too numerous to mention.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at April 30 in the St. Ignatius Catholic Mission. Interment was in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.

Foster & Durgeloh Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
