Editor,

Cheerful Heart volunteers sincerely thank those individuals, organizations and businesses in the Mission and Flathead valleys that helped make our Treasure Fest Garage Sale such a huge success. As a result of the many donations we received, and the great folks who spent their hard-earned dollars, Cheerful Heart raised over $3,800 last Saturday.

The New Life Christian Church deserves a huge thank you for giving us free rein and use of their great facility.

Cheerful Heart, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides free non-medical assistance for Lake County cancer patients and their families. We spend the dollars from the Treasure Fest, and from other donations, on several projects at the Polson Oncology Clinic. We have a Wigs, Hats and Scarves program for people undergoing cancer treatment. We are buying books for a cancer resource lending library. Cheerful Heart also provides for the care and cleaning of the oncology clinic's blankets, plus purchasing of other items for patient comfort at the clinic.

In addition to working with the Polson Oncology Clinic, our volunteers provide various types of assistance. Volunteers most often transport people to treatment in Kalispell or Missoula. We also make home visits and do small tasks for cancer patients who need help.

We know there is a need for the "treasures" we offer at our garage sale, so with that in mind, start setting aside those unwanted items in your garage. With your help we can make next year's sale as good, or better, than the last three.

Once again, we sincerely thank everyone who provided us with items and help for the sale.
