Frederick B. Gillette
SAN DIEGO — Frederick B. Gillette died May 5, 2005, at his home in San Diego. He was born in Valley County May 10, 1918.
He attended schools in Montana and at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia where he graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
He was awarded a Volker Fellowship for graduate study at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Mr. Gillette served as an Army Captain in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II.
He was Director of Social Services of Santa Clara County and upon his retirement was chairman of the County's Personnel Board.
He is survived by Jean, his wife of 61 years; daughters Mary Fjerstad and Cara Gillette, both of San Diego; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He will be buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Polson.
