Changes in store for Polson City Council
Voters either went to the polls or mailed in their ballots in municipal and district elections on Tuesday of this week.
Unofficial results showed the following:
Polson
Mayor Randy Ingram, unopposed, was re-elected with 439 votes.
In Ward 1, Bruce Agrella defeated incumbent Lou Marchello, 86 to 36.
In Ward 2, former Polson mayor Mike Lies won with 102 votes. Dave Hardy was second with 54 and incumbent Mike Maddy ran third with 45 votes. Murat Kalinyaprak was fourth with 34.
Also in Ward 2 Jules Clavadetscher was unopposed in his bid to continue to serve the unexpired term of Roberta Thick. He received 191 votes.
In Ward 3, former councilman Fred C. Funke got 187 to easily outdistance Sam Robert Williams, 43, and Bob Williams, 13.
Polson Rural Fire District
The Polson Rural Fire District measure went down to defeat, 334 to 241. The measure had proposed a 19-mil levy to raise about $247,000 annually unless amended.
Ronan

Only contest was for city judge with Rhonda K. Emerson challenging incumbent Glenn Frame. Frame won 173 to 159.
Mayor Kim Aipperspach with 297 votes was reelected to a four-year term. Marcia Ganieany in Ward 2 was reelected with 85 votes and Richard Jungers was elected in Ward 3 with 105 votes. All three were unopposed. There were no candidates in Ward 1, so that post will have to be filled by appointment.
St. Ignatius

Only contest in St. Ignatius was also for city judge: Sharon Richardson of Polson was the winner with 67 votes. Incumbent Craig L. Hoppe had 39, and Kelly Glover 27.
Mayor John Connot with 78 votes was reelected to a four-year term as were incumbent Town Council members Charles Gariepy and Ilene Leishman, who received 102 and 83, respectively. All three were unopposed.
Sheavers Creek/Lake County
Water and Sewer District

The top three vote recipients were elected: Robert C. Hand 38, Edward Mitchke 38 and Matt O'Farrell 32. Also rans were John Conway 14 and Alvie S. Miller 13.
For Jette Meadows/Lake County Water and Sewer District

Voters favored creation of the district 96 to 6.
Five directors were to be elected but only two persons were running. Craig Barfoot and Einar John Stromnes were elected with 83 and 81 votes, respectively. The other three positions will be filled by appointment.
