Helen Irene Michaelson

RONAN — Helen Irene Michaelson died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at St. Luke Community Hospital in Ronan.

She was born to Charles and Thelma Mattson on Nov. 26, 1929, in Roberts, the second of five children. The family moved to the North Crow area and later settled on a farm west of Pablo. She graduated from Ronan High School and then got a degree as a dietary technician from St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

In July 1950, she married M.J. Michaelson. They had five children together and were later divorced.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Hazel White of California and Leona Daniels of Missoula; and brother Chet, who was serving in the Navy; her son Mike, and daughter, Debbie Starkel.

She is survived by son Dennis (Sheryl) Michaelson of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter Terry (Bruce) Elverud of Charlo and Darcy (Wes) Schultz of Polson; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Walter (Teresa) Mattson of Boise, Idaho; two brothers-in-law, and 11 nephews.

At Helen's request, no services are planned at this time. A private memorial will be held later.
