Robert E. Hunter

POLSON — Robert E. Hunter, 94, of Polson. died at Evergreen Health & Rehab. Center in Polson on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005.

Robert was born on June 7, 1911, in Indianapolis, Ind., to John Wesley Hunter and Isadore (Cox) Hunter. He moved to Madoc as a child. He grew up and attended schools in Madoc.

Bob married Beatrice Rowe and they had two children together. They later divorced. Bob married Ruth Hodge on April 6, 1983, in Polson.

He worked in Havre, Whitefish and Kalispell before settling in Polson. He worked as mechanic in Polson at Stedje Motors and eventually started working at the Polson Golf course. He worked at the golf course from 1980-1998.

Bob was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Hunter of Polson; son John Hunter of Kingsland, Ga.; daughter Janice Turner of Anchorage, Alaska; sister Genevieve Goulet of Colfax, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren, and two stepsons. G. Edward Dean of Polson and Dwight Dean of Biddeford, Maine.

Mass of the Resurrection was held Nov. 9 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Val Zdilla officiating.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Polson.
