How to help Loaves & Fish Pantry

| November 16, 2005 12:00 AM

Editor,

What a great opportunity we all have to assist the less fortunate folks in our community. The Town Pump organization is currently promoting and participating in its annual fundraising campaign to help food pantries in Montana.

This fundraising campaign, which ends Nov. 30, 2005, will match all donations received, up to $2,500. This is an increase of $1,000 over last year.

Donations can be made either at Town Pump or at our local food pantry, Loaves & Fishes.

This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals, businesses, service organizations, and churches to help the Polson Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry get some free money (up to $2,500) from Town Pump's matching program.

The Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry has never been busier helping local families in need. Pantry assistance in the form of food and some sundries has increased significantly over the past five years, from 750 families in 1999 to 1,172 families in 2004 — an increase of 56 percent. With the rising cost of gasoline and heating fuel, we anticipate an increasing need for assistance in the 2005-2006 season.

Won't you please join me and my wife in making a matchable contribution to the Polson Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry today.
