Ronan community dinner needs helpers

| November 16, 2005 12:00 AM

Editor,

The Ronan Community Volunteers invite community members to participate in preparing the 2nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner that will be served on Thursday, Nov. 24, at the Ronan Community Center.

First of all, we would generally appreciate your willingness to join us for the actual dinner on Thanksgiving Day. It will be served between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., at no charge. We will dine on roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, fresh vegetables, fresh dinner rolls and pies.

Doesn't that sound fabulous?

All you have to do is enjoy the company and you can get to know the community. Our focus here is building relationships that will better our community.

We have specific needs for volunteers' help, as follows:

Bake dinner rolls

Bake pies

Set up tables and chairs

Serve food on a buffet line

"Host/hostess" (helping people get seated)

"Greeters" (welcoming and getting signatures in guest book, directing traffic)

Clean up kitchen and dining hall

Ministry (Life for the Nations is coordinating this portion, volunteers are welcome: Call Pastor and Mrs. Cummings, 883-1915)

Live Entertainment (Julie Borden of The Red Poppy is coordinating this portion; volunteers are needed: — especially children who would like to perform. Call 676-2224.)

Whether you would like to volunteer or would like to bring your family to enjoy the true celebration of the harvest, please consider joining us. We would be honored to have you.

God bless you.
