POLSON — Evelyn Marguerite Coor, 95, died on Sept. 29, 2005, in Hamilton, Texas.

Evelyn was born June 25, 1910, to Roy R. and Lillie Parks Blair in Wall, Texas. She was the oldest of seven children and attended public school in Vancourt. On March 15, 1930, in Tom Green County, Texas, she married Estal R. Coor. They shared 46 years together and were blessed with three sons.

During their married lives they lived in Texas before moving to California to work and raise their family.

In 1963, they retired to Polson. After Estal died, Evelyn lived as a widow for nearly 30 years. She lived in Polson until 1983 when she relocated to Hamilton, Texas, to be near her dear brother Harold and his family.

Evelyn was a homemaker when her children were young. After they were raised, she worked as a nurse and caregiver at Briarcliff nursing home.

She journaled her entire adult life and has left her family a written legacy of history and events she chronicled from personal travels and adventures to the births of every grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild. Evelyn was a wonderful seamstress and quilter. She made many of her own clothes and enjoyed dressing up.

Never shy about color, she could light up any room she walked into with one of her stunning outfits. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estal Coor; her mother and father, Roy and Lillie Parks, her sons, Kenneth Coor and Dalton Coor; her siblings, Hazel Middlebrook, Roy Blair, and Garth Blair.

She is survived by her son Larry Coor and his wife Helene, of Palm Springs, Calif.; her siblings, Harold Blair and wife Ida of Hamilton, Texas, Natalie Massey and husband Harold of Fredricksburg, Texas, and Wanda Young of Brownwood, Texas; her grandchildren, Skip Long, Rhonda Burland, Dalonna Cooper, Brenda Rae Coor, Kelli Ryan, Brett Coor and Darin Coor; 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at Polson's Lakeview Cemetery, overlooking Flathead Lake, on Friday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The family can be reached through Larry Coor at 1755 Viminal Road, Palm Springs, CA 92262.

Local arrangements are being handled through Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory.
