Percentage figures must be wrong

Regarding "Bar owners worry about impact of smoking ban," any establishment that claims to lose business simply because of smoke-free air already had a problem.

Smoke-free air has always been good for people and places.

And the bar owner that you quoted as claiming that

"95 percent of his patrons smoke" is truly laughable. Only 15 percent of Americans still smoke, so either his figures are way off and/or he needs to reevaluate his "business."

Each and every one of us has a long-standing right to smoke-free air.

And government at alllevels has an obligation to make sure that this right is protected. No one, child or adult, should ever have to breathe the witch's brew of carcinogens and poisons in toxic tobacco smoke.

All public places and workplaces — indoors and out — should be smoke-free. Only the tobacco people and their "friends" continue to dispute the facts.
