Metzes' caboose project lauded

| October 13, 2005 12:00 AM

Editor,

Thank you for the article by Nate Traylor on the "Couple's fascination with trains comes to life." Buying a caboose is a dream of many rail fans . Congratulations to the Metzes for making it a reality.

Also of interest is that they want to have a miniature railway run around their property. Many people may not be aware that these miniature railways can be found throughout the United States. Why? Because people like the Metzes have fond memories of these railways as children, or railways in general, and find a way to build them later in life.

But what about these trains? Are they real steam engines? What scale are they? How much do they cost? Those who are curious about such questions can obtain a free copy of our brochure titled "Want to Learn More About Miniature Riding Railways?" Simply send an e-mail to

mainline@sunset.net

or call 530-527-0141 and I will be happy to provide a complimentary copy.

In the meantime, I sincerely hope the Metzes enjoy their new cabooses. And thank you for a story that just makes one sit back and smile.
