Why was Siberian Husky shot?

| October 13, 2005 12:00 AM

Editor,

To the person who shot the Siberian Husky on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9:30 p.m. on Forman Road::

I hope you are happy. You shot a dog that was a family pet. She got out and was missing for a while. I am sure she was not bothering anything. I came to your house and asked you about it and you told me you didn't know anything or did not see the dog, but you did shoot her.

You not only shot her, you took off her collar and tags. Then you had the gall to put her in your vehicle and drive her to the field and dump her. Yes, we did find her. Did you think that was a hiding place? All we wanted to know was what was she doing for you to take her life?

Not only that, there are many horses and goats and other livestock around you, you were very lucky not to hit any of them.

There is also another dog missing from the Valley View area. If you have done away with him, too, please call and let the owner know as they are still looking for the pet they miss dearly. There are posters and pictures all over town. Maybe you can call and let them know.

No dog should be killed on the first offense. Go to the owner and give them a chance to fix the problem, if there is one. Then do what you have to do if the owner doesn't take care of it. I am sure you got a second chance or maybe more at some time of your life.

Polson
