Help Ronan museum celebrate 25 years
Editor,
Help us celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mission Garden of the Rockies Museum.
We have grown in 25 years from the Parish Hall building (original stage stop) to include a school house, tool shed, and the old Round Butte Gym for displays.
In the Round Butte Gym we will expand some from Parish Hall (museum) plus new offerings of L.D. and John French's roll top desk, old book cases and books.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schliep donated a showcase, tools, lamps and insulators.
Mrs. Read is donating items from the early practice of Dr. R.D. Read, DVM.
We're getting a good start on the hat collection suggested by Cal Lindburg. Cal is one of the original group starting this museum venture.
Now to the public: We do need your help. Over the years the businesses have donated generously to our flea market and St. Pat's potato dinner, and have given monetary assistance.
Raffle tickets are being offered to the public for $5 each. We are aiming to sell 1,000 tickets.
We had to borrow some money from the bank to finalize the gym's moving and foundation. Now we need to start repaying this.
We are hoping the Ronan Women's Club, which instigated the first museum in the old brick school, will help sell tickets. They also help in other ways now. The Ronan Lions Club where Richard Bauer was a member for many years — then detoured to the Mission Valley Heritage Association (what a worker, we sure miss him). The MVHA will be asked to help sell.
We are a small group of active members who need help. We have a group of museum sitters whom we appreciate to no end. Join us and buy a ticket or two. We have some nice gifts to the lucky ticket holder.
You can also send money to Pat Andersen at 317 Andersen Lane, Ronan, MT 59864. An account has been set up at the Ronan Community Bank. All money will have chances made for the drawing.
Thank you, Ronan community and Lake County people, when you help
