'Lights On' was very successful

| October 20, 2005 12:00 AM

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers from School District No. 30 thank the Ronan and Pablo Communities for coming together to help us celebrate "Lights On Afterschool" on Oct. 13.

Over 270 people came to lend their support of after school programs, as well as see Monte, eat Indian Tacos, and play White Elephant Bingo. It was a wonderful evening and very successful.

The following people were instrumental in making this event come together: Cheri Houle, who put together the food with the help of her After School Cooking students — Anna, Demi, and Wade; Janice Couture, for making some of the best fry bread in the valley; the Ronan High School Choir for singing the National Anthem; Jesse Janssen for putting together a drum group with little notice; the staff at our schools for donating the White Elephant prizes; John Schnase for presenting on behalf of the Boys and Girls Clubs; Jim Perry, our wonderful Bingo caller; Joan Graham, Jim Gillhouse and Dave Koehler for stepping up and offering their assistance with the presentation and cleanup; the University of Montana for sending Monte our way; Harvest Foods, Mission Mart, and McDonald's for their donations of food and drinks; and thanks to the teachers and site coordinators at all of the schools — you do an amazing job each and every day with our students.
