PABLO — Ronan boys and girls cross country continue to out pace the competition, this time at Pablo Silver Fox Golf Course last Saturday in Northwestern A Conferernce action.

Michael Fisher (15:44) and Terinee McCready (18:16) claimed top spots. Fisher beat Polson's Logan Trogison to the finish line by 10 seconds while McCready was well ahead of Brook Andrus of Bigfork by 47 seconds.

Ronan boys earned 31 points beating Whitefish, Polson, C-Falls and Libby.

The girls placed first with 29 points, beating Whitefish, Polson and C-Falls.

Ronan's top five boys finished within seconds of each other to fill sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth places.

Andrew Graham came in sixth with 16:48 with Buddy Cheff finishing in seventh with 16:51. Cameron Barber trailed closely to come in eighth with 17:04 and Erick Stedje came in ninth with 17:07 to round out the boys top five.

Sadie McMillan came in a respectable third with 19:35 while Briana Malmquist came in fifth with 20:28. Kaneesha Benson was right behind with 20:32, good enough for sixth and Christa Salomon finished 14th with 21:23.

The state Class A cross country meet takes place this weekend at the University of Montana's golf course.

Based on results from the other divisions, the girls team race will go to either Ronan or Havre while the boys will battle defending champ Browning, Dillon and Harding.

"I think our kids will run well as we've been pointing to this meet all year," said head coach Gale Decker.
