Mother appreciates search efforts for drowning victim

On behalf of my family, I extend my sincere thank you to the wonderful officials and volunteers of Lake County and vicinity who helped search for my son, John "Denny" Quintana, who drowned Aug. 5 at Buffalo Rapids in the Flathead River.

In particular, I wish to thank Sheriff Bill Barron and his deputies and the volunteers of the Search and Rescue squad. We also thank the Flathead County Sheriff's dive team who assisted the search, the many countless private citizens who helped, and the Lake County Commissioners for their support.

The resources and support brought to bear by these agencies, officials, and individuals was truly touching and greatly appreciated. Many of these individuals risked their own lives to find my dearly beloved son's body. Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude go out to all of you.
