Tracy Albert Newell

HOUSTON, Texas — Tracy Albert Newell, 60, of Algoa, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, in Methodist Hospital, Houston, after a courageous battle with cancer. He had been a resident of Algoa area for 29 years.

He attended high school in Polson and elementary school in Dayton.

Mr. Newell was born Feb. 23, 1945, in La Jolla, Calif., to Jack E. and Louise Brewer Newell. He retired after 26 years of service with Union Carbide and Dow Chemical Company. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member and deacon of Santa Fe Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack E. Newell.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Newell of Algoa; mother, Louise Hobbs of East Point, Fla.; daughters, Tonya Marcuccio of Friendswood, Texas, and Teresa Clifford of College Station, Texas; son, Aaron Newell of Milwaukee, Wis.; sisters, Lynda Schely of Oregon, Cindy Bailey of Oregon, Mary Brisbin of Florida, Tina Chaney of Florida; brother, Terry Newell of Houston; stepsisters, Karen Cook, Toni Bronson and Cathy Zinanti; stepbrother, John Mullen; six grandchildren and his supportive church family at Santa Fe Christian Church.

A Memorial service was held Aug. 21, at Santa Fe Christian Church with Pastor Terry Gibson officiating. A private burial service followed. Memorials can be made in Mr. Newell's honor to the Santa Fe Christian Church parking lot fund. They may be mailed to Santa Fe Christian Church P.O. Box 521, Santa Fe, TX 77517.
