Laura Lou Nuernberger-Wallis

ST. IGNATIUS — Laura Lou Nuernberger-Wallis, 36, of Dixon died Sept. 1, 2005, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident near Georgetown Lake.

Born in Roosevelt, Utah on July 13, 1969, to Howard and Sharon (Van Sickle) Nuernberger, she was raised in Utah until 1974 when they moved to Montana. She graduated from Senior High in Billings and attended college at Montana University for three years where she was a political science major.

Laura was caring person, helping take care of many people and horses.

She managed ranches in California, race horses, polo ponies and reining clinics to mention a few of the many things that she had accomplished in her life. She married David "Jake" Wallis at the Chuck Johnson Ranch in St. Ignatius on May 22, 2005. Laura was preceded in death by her mother in 1980.

She leaves behind her husband Jake of Dixon; her father, Howard (Jan) Nuernberger of Ravalli; her brothers and sisters, Bill Brown and H.P. Nuernberger, both of Billings, Pat Malloy of Missoula, Cheryl Brown of Long Beach, Calif., and Paula Brown of Red Lodge; grandson Kenny Spotted Eagle, a large extended stepfamily; many nieces, nephews and countless friends, 17 horses and three dogs.

Funeral services were held at the Chuck Johnson Ranch near St. Ignatius on Sept. 5. Foster & Durgeloh Funeral Home in St. Ignatius was in charge of arrangements.
