POLSON — Robert Lee (Bob) Adsit, 76, of Polson, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Evergreen Health & Rehabilitation Center in Polson.

Robert was born on Oct. 12, 1928, in Walton, Kan., to Charles Lee Adsit and Margarite Mary Schwindt Adsit.

On Oct. 9, 1949, he married Martha June Howard and they had five children, Margaret, Robert, Grace, Barbara, Debra and an adopted daughter Rhonda.

Bob was raised on a farm in Kansas until his mother's death when Robert was nine years old. He then went to live on a farm in Oregon with his grandparents. He graduated from college in Compton, Calif. He also took engineering training in New York City.

Bob worked for General Dynamics Corporation as an electrical engineer in California. He was the shop steward for the union while he was employed at General Dynamics. Working in the city was not for Bob, so he retired and came to Montana.

On May 19, 1990, Bob married Laura B. Mueller. They lived in Ronan a short time and then moved to Polson, where they remained. They spent several years traveling in their motor home seeing family and attending Good Sam events.

He was a member of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Polson. Laura and Bob enjoyed meals at the senior centers and other activities provided by the centers.

Bob retained his sense of humor to the end and had many visits from friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha June, and daughters Barbara Gould and Debra Adsit.

Surviving are his wife Laura of Polson; son Robert Adsit (Bernice); daughters Margaret Morris (Ron), Grace Adsit and Rhonda Jensen (Jack).

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held Sept. 5, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Aaron Stinnett officiating.

The family suggests memorials to the Life Savers Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 643, Polson, MT 59860 or to the donor's choice.

Arrangements were by Grogan Funeral Home & Crematory of Polson.
