B&G Club thanks area for support

One of the difficult tasks for any charitable organization is to say thank you in the most meaningful way. Time and time again our Lake County communities have come together to show their support for causes that make a difference.

Here at the Boys & Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County, our existence has once again been bolstered through recent fund raising activities.

A large amount of our budget is your money. The board and staff will do its best to use your money in the most effective way. At the club our mission is "To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens."

That's a tall order but we're dedicated to the cause, just as you have dedicated some of your dollars to this cause.

We strive to give kids a safe place to go after school and during most of the summer. Cleanliness, orderliness and facility upkeep are quite important since each issue is part of a safe environment.

We work toward better training for our staff members in programming, activities, role models and mentorship.

Our example and ability to provide consistent, sound guidance helps to build a moral compass in our members and give them decision-making abilities and hope for their future.

This is how we spend the dollars you have so generously given to us, as direct service to these 6 to 18 year olds who comprise our membership.

We will do this five days each week and all summer with only a short break occasionally during the year.

If you pledge and give to our cause monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or yearly, thank you.

If you are a business, individual, organization or one of our municipal or government partners, thank you.

If you donate dollars, food, materials, time or services freely or at a discount, thank you.

If you are one of our excellent media friends who contribute to our needed public relations and outreach, thank you. Your continued help is essential.

The past fundraising events included the Mardi Gras, Come Ride With Me, Odyssey West Concert, Owenhouse Magic Show and the July 22 Radiothon. Each event gave us either the needed funds to continue the important work we do or a fortune in good will.

In any case our hats are off to all of you who help us. We will continue to do our best … to do what we say we will do to fulfill our mission.
