Thomas C. Reed
FROSTBURG, Md. — Thomas C. Reed died Sept. 21, 2005 after an extended illness, in Frostburg, Md.
Tom was the son of Thomas W. and Jewell (Carroll) Reed. He was born in Kalispell on Oct. 4, 1924, and lived the first 17 years of his life in the Dayton, Rollins, Polson area. His father owned a sawmill on Black Lake near Dayton at the time of Tom's birth.
Tom graduated with the class of 1942, having joined the Navy in January 1942 following the attack on Pearl Harbor.
He served as a Navy Aviation Mechanic in the South Pacific Theatre during the war, followed by a lifetime of work in the aviation industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother George Allen, and two half-sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years; a son, Thomas Jr. (Kathy) of Chico, Calif.; daughter, Janice (Mike) Driesbach of Frostburg; a brother, Bob (Peggy) Reed of Condon; four nieces, a nephew, and many, many friends.
