ARLEE — The Warriors got a big win over Plains and showed signs of excellence on their opponent's turf, winning their first conference game 20-6 last Friday night.

"It was an excellent game. It was very good for the boys," head coach Shawn Orr said. "Plains is a big team. We were slow in the first quarter but we came up in the second quarter for two touchdowns."

Billy Hitchcock made the first touchdown on a 24-yard pass from Jared Foust in the second quarter, and John Ritter scored the extra point on the kick.

Hitchcock scored after catching a nine-yard pass from Foust. Ritter kicked again for another extra point.

Buddy Hietela moved in and scored in the third quarter with a 44-yard interception return.

Plains also made a touchdown in the third quarter with no extra point but the Warriors kept the winning score to the end.

"Jake Whetzel had 140 yards on 13 carries. On defense he had 14 tackles and two interceptions. Billy Hitchcock had 14 tackles and two carries," Orr said.

"Defensively we had quite a few tackles. We stopped them at the one-yard line, too."

Next weekend is homecoming for the Warriors, and they'll face Troy.

"They're 0-4 but we are not taking them lightly. They have an excellent coach and we are going to give it all we've got, and give the crowd an excellent game," Orr said.
