Wal-Mart treated her really well

| April 5, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

For two years I worked at the Polson Wal-Mart, taking in all the negative remarks about it becoming a Super Wal-Mart. I have been quiet about how it has made me feel to know there are people that are trying to take away our livelihood, and how Wal-Mart isn't good for our community.

Just recently my husband and I moved to Spokane, because he could not find a full-time job in the Polson area that lasted for more then six months, or that was moving to Kalispell. I didn't have that problem because I worked at Wal-Mart where you got 40 hour weeks and didn't have to worry about your job being taken away from you.

I also received benefits, health insurance, paid vacations, profit sharing, personal time, and room to climb the ladder. Yes, I know you have heard lots from the old timers at Wal-Mart, but I have only been with the company for two years and I just got a transfer to a store in Spokane. Now can you tell me how many companies would do that for their associates after only two years? Recently we went to a Supercenter Wal-Mart in the Spokane Valley that the community opposed at one time, but now it is such a hit you can't even get down the aisles because it is so packed with people shopping for food.

Polson needs a super Wal-Mart because it will provide more jobs for those that can't go back and forth to Kalispell or Missoula. Wal-Mart is good for our community.
