Kathleen Ann Krantz McClure

ST. IGNATIUS — Kathleen Ann Krantz McClure, 54, from St. Ignatius, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, from a battle with cancer.

Kathy was born July 30, 1951, to Alexander Harvey "Soup" and Verna Krantz in St. Ignatius. Kathy graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1969 and then attended the Missoula Business School.

She worked for the Holy Family Hospital in St. Ignatius, the high school office in Charlo, the Medicine Tree Clinic in Arlee and St. Ignatius, Dr. Coon in Ronan and Dr. Mikesell in Missoula.

Kathy was an avid softball player; she loved to play the sport. She attended many tournaments across Montana, Idaho, Washington and California, almost always being the most valuable player.

She loved to read and always encouraged others to do the same. Her house was filled with lots of baseballs, bats and books!

Kathy is survived by her husband of 20 years, Louis Alvin McClure; her daughters, Jamie Lee McClure, Kimberly Barber (Scott), Nichole McClure-Krahn (David), Cori Matthew (Carlos) and Jodi Wrede; and one son, David McClure.

She had eight grandchildren whom she adored and loved: Mariah, Madison, Jeffrey, Justin, Carli Raye, Christopher, Austin and Jeremiah.

She is also survived by her mother Verna Krantz; two brothers, Bill Krantz (Myrna) and Kenny Krantz (Kay); and two sisters, Linda Bowers (Kirk) and Patty Krantz.

The funeral was April 8 at the St. Ignatius Community Center with burial at the Krantz Memorial Cemetery in St. Ignatius. The Rev. Karen McRae officiated.
