Arlee track teams chalk up good finishing scores

ARLEE — The Warriors and the Scarlets defeated Superior on the track with excellent finishing scores. The Warriors came home with a score of 93 1/2 to Superior's 82 1/2 and the Scarlets scored 65 to Superior's 24 and St. Regis's 10.

"They performed pretty well. Some of them had some personal bests with bringing their times down," head coach Richard Bachmeier said.

It was a triangle meet with Arlee, Superior and St. Regis all working to take the lead but Arlee proved their strengths and came out ahead.

"It was a smaller meet so it gave our kids a chance to compete in more events, with a greater chance of success," he said.

Seth Hershman took second in the 100 with 12:79. In the 200 Hershman took second with 27:07 and Ethan Willoughby took third with 27:9.

Wyatt O'Neil took home the win in the 400 with a time of 62:26 and Keigan Fluke took third with 92:69.

In the 800 Scott Fisher took second with 2:35.02 and Richard Pierre took third 2:40.50. Jacob Santos took first in the 1,600 with a time of 5:16.31, Jacob Trujillo took second with 5:38.54 and Cody Wilson took third with 6:15.85. Trujillo also took first in the 3,200 with a time of 12:02.18.

Fisher took second in the 110 hurdles with 19:55 and Jared Foust took third with 21:69. Buddy Hietala took second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47:18.3 and Fisher took third with 48:59.

Matt Baker took second in the javelin with 120-5 and Cody Wilson took first in the shot put with 39-3 1/2. O 'Neil came out ahead once again in the high jump 5-6 and Matt Baker took second for a tie with Superior 5-2.

Baker took second in the long jump 17-8 1/2 and Buddy Hietala took third with 17-0 1/4. Baker also did well in the triple jump with 38-7 for first and Ethan Willoughby took third with 35-1 1/2.

Hershel Clizbe took second in the pole vault with 10-0 and Jacob Santos took third with 10-0.

The Scarlets Sam Tameler took first in the 100 with 14.7 and Ishan Wylie took second with 14.78. In the 200 Wylie took first with 31:12. Rayme Bringuel took second in the javelin with 100-4.

In shot put Wylie took first with 29-6 and Miranda Meidinger took second with 29-4 1/2. Meidinger took first in the discus with 92-10.

Wylie came alive again as she took first in the high jump with a score of 4-8 and Bringuel took second with 4-6.

Sam Tameler took first in the long jump 13-0 and Bringuel took second with 11-4. Adrianna Willoughby won the triple jump with 29-3 1/2, Tameler took second with 29-1 1/2 and Bringuel took third with 28-10 1/4. Willoughby had 7-6 in the pole vault.

The track team will go to Thompson Falls on Thursday and Seeley Swan at Missoula on Saturday.
