BB/BS thanks groups for help
Editor,
On March 6, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters received funding in the amount of $3,000 from the Lower Flathead Valley Community Foundation. The funding will be used to support the Big Brothers/Big Sisters In-School Mentoring Expansion Project. This project is focused on supporting the eighty-six existing matches currently participating in the BB/BS program, as well as recruiting more matches and implementing summer programming in 2006. Big Brothers/Big Sisters would like to thank all of the board members from LFVCF, in supporting its programming and expansion efforts.
On Saturday, March 18, Linda Frost presented a monetary award in the amount of $2,500 to Monica Shaw, Case Manager and Sheron Green, Board Chair of BB/BS.
The funding will be used for the Big Brothers Big Sisters In-School Mentoring Expansion Project, which will increase the number of existing matches currently participating in the BB/BS program, as well as to implement summer programming.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters would like to thank the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, Montana Rail Link and Lynda Frost for this generous donation.
On March 29, Mark Clary and Mark Marmon came to K. William Harvey Elementary and provided fire safety training for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters In-School Mentoring participants. Mentoring matches received training, which included what would you do if you or your house were on fire, making a family escape plan, as well as the importance of fire alarms in your home.
The presenters also showed the students the fire truck and the equipment they wear and use. BB/BS would like to thank Mark and his staff for providing this for training our participants.
Holly Coe, BB/BS
