Is attack on Iran next on Bush's list?

| April 19, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

Since George Bush ascended to the White House, he has been using lies to get his way without having to support his false and phony statements. Now he's saying that the talk of military action against Iran is wild speculation, but this kind of rhetoric coming from Bush sounds much like his claim of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction. It was a lie, and he knew it, but he needed that lie to generate support for his primary intention to effect a regime change over there.

It was not to make America safer, or any of his other lame excuses for his creating what is now a chaotic situation that is virtually certain to conclude with having gained absolutely nothing.

Bush says one thing to delude and fool the public while he prepares to do just the opposite, and it's a pretty good bet that he is setting the stage for an attack on Iran. He has already inflamed the Muslim world into a frenzied and fanatical hatred for him and this country … not before, but since Sept. 11 2001.

Are we now to believe this notorious liar that he isn't about to do it again?
