Three candidates stand out at Mission

Editor,

I took the opportunity to attend the recent candidate forum for the St. Ignatius School Board elections. Like many, I went to the forum with some preconceived notions, only to have them dashed.

The forum featured eight well-qualified candidates running for three positions. After listening to their responses to the questions, three candidates emerged from all the rest of the great candidates at the forum.

Chuck Tellier offers the wisdom and experience of age and a passion to make both his community and its school a better place for all.

Jim Udall has a tremendous institutional knowledge of the school board and its possibilities and limitations.

Jim has also maintained a great enthusiasm for the St. Ignatius Schools and their students in his years on the board.

Kristie Nerby brings an unbridled enthusiasm and optimism about both the school system and her adopted community to the board. Kristie is also a terrific communicator.

I believe these three will make the nucleus of a great team of school board members — Chuck Tellier, Jim Udall, Kristie Nerby. Wisdom, knowledge and enthusiasm. Not a bad combination.

I invite all thoughtful voters in School District 28 to join me in voting for these three individuals on May 2.
