POLSON — Milton Lee Penfield, 24, of Polson went on his last journey July 24, 2006, to meet up with his grandparents, Richard J. and Jule Helen Penfield and Judy's special mother, Maila.

Milton was born on March 29, 1982, in Bend, Ore., to Judy (Schoonover) and Richard Penfield.

Milton's love of the outdoors came early in life while being raised on the small farm in Redmond, Ore. Along with the cows and horses, Milton was always with Judy as she milked cows and cleaned the parlor. Milton would sit on a grain can while his brother would watch him in a car seat.

Milton loved to travel and visited numerous places including Mexico, Las Vegas, and throughout the western United States. He also traveled to New York City and Washington, D.C. where he toured the White House along with his fellow students from the Seventh Day Advent School, which he attended in the eighth grade.

He attended and graduated from Ronan High School.

He worked with his father as a glazier at Polson Paint & Glass for six years.

Milton was a member of the Mission Valley Elks #1695.

Milton's love for hunting, camping, riding dirt bikes and fishing with his family filled his life. He loved fishing and crabbing on the Washington coast in his Dad's boats. He also loved to snowmobile with his special friends, the Crocketts, and many other good friends. This was always his preferred activity.

Milton had a very good heart and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was a very giving person who always lived his life with his heart. As his cancer was progressing, he always kept positive and never questioned "Why me?"

Milton asked to be baptized and Pastor Dewey Obenchain baptized him by Flathead Lake.

Milton is survived by his parents Richard and Judy (Schoonover) Penfield of Ronan, and brother Perry Joseph Penfield of Seattle.

A memorial service was held on July 29 at the New Life Christian Center in Polson with Pastor Dewey Obenchain officiating.

The family has suggested memorials be made to Cheerful Heart, P.O. Box 688, Polson, MT. 59860 so that other cancer patients may be helped.

Cremation and arrangements were by Grogan Funeral Home & Crematory of Polson. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.groganfuneralhome.com
