Ina Jean Davis

POLSON — Lifelong Polson resident Ina Jean Davis,79, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 in Apple Valley, Minn. Ina was born and reared in Polson and continued to live here as she and husband John ran the Davis Mercantile.

Ina was active in many civic affairs and was influential in the creation of the Polson-Flathead Historical Museum, the Soroptimists of Polson, and Polson Community Church.

She was devoted to her family — especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was dedicated to church.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents, J.F. and Olive McAlear, and her husband, John Davis.

She is survived by son Dean (Candy); granddaughters Jackie Smith (David) and Megan Davis; grandsons Andrew and Tony Haga; great-grandchildren Josie, Gus and Levi Smith; and sister Ethel Montgomery (Milton).

The funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 19, 11a.m., in the Polson Community Church with the Rev. Richard Widerholdt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

A reception will follow the services at the church. The burial will be a private family ceremony in Lakeview Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Polson Community Church, 1814 First Street East, Polson, 59860.

Arrangements are under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory of Polson.
