Laura Susan (Umphrey) Hauck
BOUNTIFUL, Utah — Our dear daughter, sister, aunt, mom and friend, Laura Susan (Umphrey) Hauck, died Aug. 4, 2006. She was born Sept. 21, 1954, in Shelby to LaMar and Elda Umphrey. She grew up and graduated from high school in St. Ignatius.
She married Jeff Hauck in 1977, though they later divorced.
After leaving St. Ignatius, Laura also lived in Butte, Missoula, Billings and Cody, Wyo., before moving to Bountiful.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a very devoted mom. She worked hard to do whatever she could to give her son a good life. She was supportive and proud of his accomplishments as a 4.0 student and of his success at recent national competitions in business and health occupations.
Laura was a very hard worker and a kind and gentle woman. She was always willing to do anything for anyone. She was very much loved by her nieces and nephews and family.
At the time of her death she was employed by Lasting Impressions, a scrapbooking company in Bountiful.
She was also a master at spinning wool and weaving fabric; in her free time she created many wonderful treasures for family and friends. She had a simple and quiet life and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her mom Elda Joy (Clark); brothers and sisters Faye (Larry) Garlock, Mike (Valerie) Umphrey, John (Koreen) Umphrey, Ken Umphrey, Jim (Jessica) Umphrey; and her son, Jeremy.
She was preceded in death by her dad LaMar; and two brothers, Eldon and Eddie.
