Marie Rosellna Rogers

RONAN — Marie Rosellna Rogers, 86, of Ronan died of natural causes at home on Wednesday, Aug. 9,2006.

Marie was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Mahnomen, Minn., to Michail A. and Mary K. (Rassier) Jaeger. She was raised in Mahnomen where she met and married Emmanuel "E.L." Rogers. Marie and E.L. were happily married on Oct. 12, 1942. They moved to Montana in 1948 and arrived in Ronan in 1950.

Together they enjoyed a life that included the birth of three sons. She ingrained in all of her family the hard work ethic that she demonstrated throughout her entire life. Marie worked alongside her husband, as well as her sons, to provide a better life for her family.

Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, who enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren on a constant basis. She supported all of her grandchildren's school activities, attended their sporting events, concerts, religious events, as well as numerous weddings and childbirths.

Marie was also an avid gardener who took tremendous pride and joy from tending to her lovely garden. Not only did she love gardening and flowers, she was a supporter of the local Senior Citizens Center and the Breadbasket, donating fresh vegetables from her garden. Marie loved cooking and baking as well, constantly cooking for relatives and neighbors at a moment's notice. No matter who showed up or when she always had a delicious meal ready. Marie was famous for her mouth watering pumpkin bars as well as her delectable Charlie Brown.

Marie embraced her Catholic faith and participated in church activities at the Sacred Heart Parish of Ronan.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Michail and Mary, husband E.L. in 2000; son Allen in 1994; and two grandsons, Glenn Raymond and Mark Lee James, in 1976.

Marie is survived by Glenn and Vicki, Roy and Wendy; daughters-in-law Joyce Rogers and Vicki Erickson; grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn, Will, Ruth, Darrel and Deana; Anne and Brian Loveless; Michaele and Brian May, Wayne and Valerie, Todd and Tammy, Gene, John and Sandy; Tammy and Chris Bryant, Elisha and Kevin; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Christian Burial was held Aug. 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
