George Dallas Dean
RONAN — George Dallas Dean, 69, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at his home in Ronan after 30 years battling with cancer. He died faithful to his God, Jehovah, the sovereign of the universe.
Dallas was born to Dr. Galen Dean and his wife Bonnie, on June, 2, 1937, at McPherson, Kan. Dallas was a kind and gentle man, who never complained, and always said, "I'm fine," and when pressed further would say, "well, I want to be."
Dallas was educated in Kansas, the Butte business school, and graduated from Portland Dental Lab school. But his most treasured education was at Brooklyn Bethel, the worldwide headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in New York, as well as the Continuous Theocratic Ministry school of Jehovah's Witnesses, which for a period of time he served as the school overseer.
Various local occupations included Western Bee, Montana Naturals, and most recently the Jore Corporation, until his health forced his retirement at age 67. One of his most treasured jobs was traveling with his father, Dr. Dean, in their Dodge motor home, which was a dental office on wheels, traveling all over central and eastern Montana as lab assistant for his father who was the orthodontist.
Those "occupations" only supported his true "vocation" of serving his God, Jehovah. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses he enjoyed giving public discourses throughout western Montana, singing at funerals and weddings with Bonnie Dolence, and serving at Bethel for four years.
Because of his deep love and concern for the worldwide "brotherhood," especially those countries under religious persecution, he and his wife Louise supported them at international conventions in France and Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Galen and Bonnie Dean, and brothers Mac and Loren. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Louise; four sons, Glenn and Mac of Spokane, Jesse of Hoboken, N.J., and Zac of Missoula; also local in-laws Mary Ann (nurse #1) and Jerry Teeter, Edwin and Gina Richard, Joe and Mickey Richard of Eureka, and Joan and Ben Sample of Twin Falls, Idaho, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in St. Ignatius. A meal will follow.
May Jehovah be glorified because "the true God is for us a God of saving acts; and to Jehovah the sovereign Lord belong the way's out from death." Ps. 68:20.
We will wait expectantly for the paradise earth when Dallas and millions of others will live again, by the only true God Jehovah "through Jesus Christ our lord be glory, majesty, might and authority for all past eternity and now into all eternity. Amen." Jude 25.
In lieu of flowers please sincerely listen to what Jehovah's Witnesses have to say the next time they visit.
