Kids' carnival support is acknowledged
Editor:
The Western Montana Area VI Agency on Aging in conjunction with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and The Foster Grandparent Program would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Super 1 Foods, Western Building Center, United Rentals, Valley Cruisers and the Polson City Parks Department for their contributions to support the Children's Carnival on Aug. 12. These businesses and organizations certainly helped to make our carnival a success, and it's good to know that businesses and organizations in our community are so willing to help make events like these a tremendous success.
The Foster Grandparent Program also thanks Super 1 Foods and Safeway for their contributions to our 5th annual picnic on Aug. 16. The annual picnic is our way of recognizing the amazing work Foster Grandparents do with our local children and youth. There are currently 46 Foster Grandparents volunteering in six counties of Western Montana. The hours they spend mentoring, tutoring, and befriending children and young people benefit all of us who live and work here through the increased confidence, skills, and respect children learn through this program.
If you are interested, we are always in search of new Foster Grandparents to make a difference in a child's life.
