Teens praised for Paint the State

| August 24, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

What an amazing response there was from teens all across Montana to help in the fight against methamphetamine use. Congratulations to all of the 660 entrants in the Montana Meth Project's Paint the State competition.

Your talent and commitment to eradicating meth abuse is clearly visible across the state in your artwork.

The employees of PPL Montana are proud and honored to have participated in Paint the State, and I am personally honored to have met and talked to so many of the young artists and their parents at the awards ceremony Aug. 9 in Helena.

The great participation not only from the teen artists, but also from their friends, family members and local businesses who assisted with the projects, is a testament to their understanding that meth use is a very serious issue and the top social concern in Montana.

These are teens who are willing to step forward and give their time and talents to make a difference in their communities. The enthusiasm and talent of these young people give all of us every reason to be optimistic about the future of Montana.
