Tribe, bar owners should join efforts

| December 8, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

I'm writing to say how sorry I'm that the all the bars and casinos on the Flathead Indian Reservation have to let most of their employees go. The CSKT deserved to be allowed to have gambling jurisdiction on their own reservation if only the 2007 legislature will allow it. I think it won't happen.

The CSKT should go to the Lake County Tavern Association to see if they will back up the tribe and get a new proposal going and then send it to the state, and try to get gambling back to the way it should be on the reservation from Joe's Smoke Ring, all the way to Polson.
