Appointment shows contempt

I am in awe of the Montana Republican Party State House. Never in my 70 plus years have I ever witnessed a party display such utter contempt towards the citizens of its own state. To award the education chair to an individual who has avowed disdain for the entire public school system is almost beyond comprehension.

Montana public schools, while not perfect, have made admirable progress in the past several years. It now appears that progress will be put on hold until 2009. Meanwhile, concerned parents and teachers will have to keep their fingers crossed that the system currently in place doesn't regress.
