No justice, no closure
Editor,
February 3 marks the first anniversary of the brutal murders of Gerald Sirucek and Catherine Madplume. A few things have happened since then: Dedications of the headstones of their graves; families getting together to reminisce; and two little boys being born without a father.
It is interesting to note that one of the accused is completely free enjoying life, and the other two are incarcerated in Lake County Jail enjoying three meals a day, a roof over their heads, getting medical attention with the cost of all these things paid for by us, the taxpayers.
Neither one has had a trial date set due to delay after delay. One was set for Feb. 13 only to have a new lawyer appointed to [represent] him, which means another long delay.
I ask you, is this really fair to the families involved? All they want is justice for their murdered loved ones and a little closure for themselves. There has been no justice and definitely no closure. Not right, wouldn't you agree?
